Question

English is not my native language,so my highschool certificate(diploma) isn`t in english.Does it have to be translated into english when i apply for selection? Thanks in advance

AndreaP 20th Oct 2009 10:26

I scanned (digitally encoded with an optical scanner) the school leaving diploma (that is written in Italian in my case) and sent it as an attachment (e-mail). They said it was ok, and after the certificate of visual performance I'm now waiting, as many other I think, for a date..(They wrote "we will be in contact with you with a date.."). Good luck!

Awaiting results from the SDM test... good god can't they just send it out already, I'm dying here!

EDIT: I was invited to phase 2! Really excited. A quick question, I should be wearing a suit this time right? I didn't for phase 1 and didn't feel like I made the wrong choice there, but this time it seems a bit more serious..

Irs33 24th Oct 2009 15:36

I didnt wear a suit for my phase 2, nobody that was in my phase 2 group did. They want you to be comfortable and relaxed at the test so you can perform at your best. However take a suit with you because if you pass phase 2 your interview will take place the next day.
I had my interview in july and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, they make to feel welcome and relaxed. Its good to keep in mind that they make their final decision on the whole selection process from phase 1 to the final interview, so it doesnt rest completley on a good interview.(but it helps)!!
Good luck with phase 2!

Ok thanks for the info :) Hopefully I manage to go all the way!

fmsion 28th Oct 2009 15:42

I passed part 1 :} 400 in, 64 out. Now waiting for part 2. Scheduled on Nov 3rd, so not much waiting left.
Fingers crossed I make it

subber 28th Oct 2009 17:29

Hey! Where did you get the statistics from? And do you know how many of us 64 will finally be offered a spot? Thanks!

Irs33 28th Oct 2009 19:54

This year I believe eurocontrol had 24 trainee spots, split into 3 groups of 8. One that started in june, one in november and the one that I am on starts on jan 18th in toulouse, france. I don't think this number varies too much, so I would expect it to be around 24 for 2010 also.

fmsion 28th Oct 2009 21:11

It's on the previous page, I mentioned I took the test for the Romanian national authority. There were 400 of us competing for 15 places.
I still have Feast2 to go and then a medical and psychological exam.

subber 28th Oct 2009 22:06

Ohh that had me confused! Anyone know how many people are competing for the apparently 8 spots that start training in september 2010 ? :ugh:

TheWitcher 30th Oct 2009 14:03

For fmsion...first of all i want to congratulate you for "winning" the first phase. On the second part I'm not so sure about the "right" examination. And by the way it is not Romanian National Authority. It's ROMATSA and means Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration. But I guess you will be very familiar whit this "notion".
Hope you will made it throuh second part....

Information

Hello,

I received a positive reply for first phase in Eurocontrol. Can anybody help me with my questions?
- Are there any preparation tests?
- I can't find any information if Eurocontrol pays the flight to Maastricht

Thank you!!!!;)

Lon More 4th Nov 2009 08:46

JoanaG RTFM!!!!

If you can't be bothered to read through the thread before asking that you should be asking yourself if it's worth wasting time by coming to Maastricht.

Hey everyone. I'm just back from my FEAST2 test with mixed feelings. On the positive side I did manage to spot local and opposite conflicts, and generally kept the strips ordered and under control, BUT I've also had times when I had to use the recall button and occasionally entered the wrong digits for corrections and a strip had to flash to get my attention.

Fingers crossed, but who knows..

piqla 4th Nov 2009 11:25

If you succesfully managed to split your attention for every sub-exercise (ordering the strips, spotting the conflicts, removing strips and changing datas) then you would be fine.
Fingers crossed for you...

Moira 4th Nov 2009 16:54

JoanaG, run a search for "FEAST".
You should find plenty of info about how to prepare.
Good luck.

fmsion 4th Nov 2009 20:11

Thank you, piqla, I believe I managed doing all that most of the time. I'm just worried about the times when i didn't react quick enough or the announcement flew by me because I was looking around for strips that needed expiring.
I guess I will find out in a couple of days.

subber 4th Nov 2009 22:24

I must admit that during FEAST2 I did not have similar priorities on the five tasks at hand. Sure, I attempted best I could to complete them all, but I still had a priority list that went: Audiomessages > Sorting > Insert new > Local conflicts > Removing slides > Opposite conflicts.

Basically it meant everytime a message came I stopped what I was doing to listen and insert the info. The sorting was easy and maintained and inserting new slides wasn't that hard either. Everytime a change occured or a new slide was inserted I checked if they created any new local conflitcs, and ultimately when I didn't have anything to do I checked for opposite conflicts and removed slides that weren't needed.

fmsion 4th Nov 2009 22:36

I started with the wrong attitude, so for the first couple of minutes I nervously scanned across the strips looking for "traps", then I settled down and got a good pace going.
I did manage to report the same conflict twice, in a hurry not to forget the corrections from the latest radio message.
