Hi Spot and Sue,

A brief note to let you both know that you have my support - let me have it back on the red eye. I Know I said it would only last 24 hours but apart from that I was right. Outcome not in dispute.

As an ex-Leuchars pilot (early 90s) who has just stumbled across this thread, I would like to state my utter disbelief that a CM has been brought.

In my 13 years operating in the environment described I fully understood my responsibilities wrt terrain clearance. I am still a PP (as in the title of this website) and I wish a speedy end to the proceedings.

I would also wish to offer my heartfelt support to Spot and his family (you must have controlled me by the law of averages - thanks for that).

I am truly stunned that the RAF has become such a "cover their a*se" organisation. I have just read all 18 pages so far and have nothing but respect for Spot's dignified actions during what must be an unbelievably stressful time. Never met Spot, but wish him all the luck. Great work from the support team.

Best wishes

Hi Spot & Sue,

Just a quicky to wish you good luck today and to pass on best wishes from Steve Bate, I know you'll remember him as a blip driver at ARTS when you and I were at Shawbury. He says he's unable to log on so cannot write to you direct but asked me to pass on his best wishes to you both.

Best wishes.

I have started a new thread which contains extracts from the relevant posts detailing each days events at the Court Martial.

This will hopefully allow readers who have just been made aware of the Court Martial to quickly come up to speed.

F15 Court Martial Updates

Messages of support and encouragement should continue to be posted on this thread.

Many thanks.

PS Could I ask Dick, Mickeydrip, & co to post their updates on the new thread if possible just for continuity. I can copy them across however if your time is short. Cheers

As a football manager might say:

"He was about to be stitched up like a kipper and offered as sacrificial lamb........... "

There is something very rotten in the system and it must be thoroughly investigated after the Court Martial is over. As predicted, the RAF seem to be doing a great job of exposing itself to ridicule.

FACT: This Court Martial is the longest running CM in the history of the RAF and certainly the most expensive.

Publicity

Of course the posts on this site are scrutinised by their Airships. They may even be a tad annoyed at the tone of some of the more critical comments. Some of those views may be a mile off target - they may, on the other hand be very close to the point.

Why has this case received so little publicity, either in the press or from the 'establishment'? It would not contravene the sub judice laws if properly factual and would, perhaps, allay any speculation/confusion.

Interesting fact about the length and cost of the CM!!

Keep yer pecker up Spot

Spot,

I arrived at Eastern Radar (Watton - the real ER) shortly after you left but your fame lived on as your tap dancing with Grotty was legendary. I've followed in your footsteps again, this time to Saxa Vord. All your friends in Unst are rooting for you and we hope for a speedy end to this ridiculous fiasco otherwise known as a CM. You make me proud to have been an airtrafficker but incredibly ashamed of the RAF for the hell they have put you through.

Next week is Norwick Up Helly Aa and Pam, Willie and I will be raising our glasses to you and Sue. Come and visit us soon.

Best wishes, Amanda Giles

Wuper,

It probably has not been covered in detail because to most hacks (who will doubtless be unfamiliar with the peculiarities of ATC, let alone know what RIS is) Spot probably looks quite like he made a big mistake.

I have asked for help to in my own efforts to start getting this case publicity, and to report on the RAF's questionable behaviour, but have so far recieved a poor response.

Hi Spot,

We've never met, though we've crossed paths. I was on JATCC when you were instructing on ARTS, then went to Leuchars. Just want you to know that everyone I know at the coal face is rooting for you, we all know that any of us could be standing where you are now.

I really hope that the right people are seen for what they are and brought to account for your treatment.

Very best wishes for a just outcome and I hope that you will soon be able to feel well and happy

To Wuperdinger - I believe there have been reports in many of the Scottish newspapers - there's certainly at least 1 journalist at the CM every day. I'm told that the CM also featured on the Scottish TV on Day 1 and continues to feature on Ceefax, but only in Scotland.

To Steve D; I saw your appeal for help and have responded by e-mail, but have received no reply. Still happy to help.

I have been in touch with the editors of the Times and the Telegraph.

Best wishes and good luck to all up North.

Just a short note to wish you well Spot & Sue. My thoughts, wishes and prayers go with you.

Mickeydrip, Dick, PPRune Radar et Al ... very many thanks for the excellent bulletins - for those of us retired and 'out of the loop' it's virtually the only way getting news.

As the farce drags on the more astounding the facts become and incomprehensible the CM - it beggars belief!

I've just returned from ten days leave - with no internet access - and due to the absolute zero press coverage ( that I could see ) in England, ... I was horrified to see that this farce is still continuining !!

Spot and family ... keep your chins up. We're all thinking of you.

To Spot's Official Fan Club ( and especially the Defence Team... )keep up the great work. You've all rekindled my faith in human kindness.

May this madness end soon.

Thanks Pprune Radar

Pprune Radar

many thanks for the separate thread to make following the CM easier.

Question...without prejudicing Spot's defence, can anyone tell me what Spot may or may not have said to the formation to make the RAF think that he had (using the Group Captain's words) "lulled the pilots into a false sense of security"?

Don't know spot or family, but obviously best wishes.
