Remote Control Towers

What do people think about Remote Towers?

I'm interested in hearing views on how well they work, what problems people have encountered working in them?

Cost wise... Were they more expensive than planned for?

Engineering... Network setup and redundancy?

HIAL are proposing Remote Towers ... Sounds expensive and implementing it with the North Atlantic... Must pose big problems no?

North Atlantic/Minch/Pentland Firth/North Sea is what I meant.
Was hoping for something a bit more specific, but I'll leave it to whatever generic thread you suggest.

It would be helpful if you will provide a link ... [A PPRuNe search came up with nothing.]
