AFDAS

Can anyone give me a hint as to where to find UK ATC and procedures associated with AFDAS. MATS Part 1 doesn't seem to include it and I think MATS Part 2 is aerodrome specific and therefore not publicly available?

Many thanks.

Approach Funnel Deviation Alerting System apparently!

There was a recent AAIB report which highlighted it's use, and I gather LGW utilise it too. I found some basic Eurocontrol info on it, but nothing in a UK ATC manual...

Heathrow has had that for some years; at least, something similar. Anything deviating laterally brings up an alarm of some sort in the tower. I expect somebody up to date will be along soon..

Basically, if AFDAS goes off, outside of 1nm then inform aircraft, inside of 1nm then instruct it to go around.

All procedures and descriptions will be in each respective unit's MATS Part 2, so you are unlikely to get hold of them.

Stansted has it.

As Gonzo said really. GP deviation advise crew and ask them to confirm visual with the runway. Localiser deviation outside 1 mile as above. Inside one mile first instruction will be 'go around'.
