I see Mikk 13 is in Europe so may be a bit remote. "Loads" is not correct, some have in the past but I haven't heard of any recently. Like all big organisations, people move.

it depends on what you mean with "recently"...

I ve heard that within the last 24 months around 25 guys left.
that would be pretty recent to me.

OK, but what is the major problem in Australia? We all do suffer many difficulties nowadays, especially within Europe (those concepts of SES and other cost cutting bsht).

I forgot to mention that the 25 that left all were coming from ACC.

I was just wondering what were the biggest issues within ASA.

Management wise?bad T&C? Roster? Money?

I'm just curious,that's all

Why the interest? Have you applied for a position?

Question Request

Hi guys! Is anybody here from YSSY tower, who can help me? I am an ATC from Russia (UUEE TWR) ,next month I'll fly to Sydney and stay there(here) for a short time. Looking for a way to visit Sydney TWR and compare the workstyle. In this connection I'd like to know the name and address(E-mail/fax) of the person, who is responsible for such things. Also,if it's necessary, I am ready to send an official letter from our ATC Authority. Thank you, appreciate any assistance.

Nope,I haven't applied and I'm not even interested,I was just curious to know the reasons behind the mass-exodus (I'm kidding of course).

I'm simply curious to know what the situation is like indifferent countries, that s all

like indifferent countries
Nice Freudian slip.
Long time since I left but "indifferent" nicely sums up AsA.

As one of the many who departed, I would add that most of the people who left from Brisbane centre were from the same aisle in the room. Tops/Outback/Ocean. All procedural sectors. All managed by the same handful of people. Take from that what you will.

I started applying for the Experienced Controller position but the information that is asked is (to me) quite a lot; managers that I worked under have moved and/or retired, upper management has changed.
In effect, very few might know me there now to give a recommendation or even acknowledge my past work outside of actual controllers!

They are not interested in actual air traffic controllers or anything they might have to say. What would an ATC know about ATC or ATC recruitment or ATC training. This has been known for years in Australia. What are you thinking - it's all about air traffic MANAGEMENT.
