Farnborough / LHR Special VFRs

Quick question:
If Farnborough offer/agree request a Special VFR into the LHR CTR, do they co-ordinate the clearance with Swanick/LHR ATC first, or can they clear traffic in themselves (e.g to Fairoaks direct from WW) ?

Thanks.

(edited to change CTA to CTR - as correctly pointed out by another poster)

Don't think they will . . as SVFR (in UK airspace) is for flight in a CTR (Control ZONE) in certain circumstances etc etc . . . NOT in a CTA.

Without some form of standing agreement I imagine they would not clear traffic through someone else's airspace without prior co-ordination (telephone calls take time) so is it really worth it in this example?

< aviate - navigate - communicate >

I am sure it won't be long before someone pipes up the 'what happens now' answer for you . . . as it has been a while for moi.

Keep up the good work guys

Heathrow ATC is the controlling authority for the London CTR. Farnborough must coordinate any entry with the Heathrow SVFR controller. Usually Farnborough will only pass details to Heathrow SVFR or Freecall the traffic for the Heathrow controller to issue the clearance. The Heathrow controller would normally require the aircraft to be on the Heathrow frequency whilst within the CTR. An exception would be when the SW part of the CTR is delegated to Farnborough ATC during the SBAC air show to permit greater manouevring options with high energy traffic and transit traffic.

To add to TDM's reply occasionally Heathrow SVFR will issue a clearance to Farnborough to pass to an aircraft and the aircraft can stay with us for a transit of the LL CTR, this only tends to happen with aircraft routing from the WOD area to Fairoaks. But to answer the question we do coordinate with SVFR and can only pass on a clearance issued by them.

As I said . . . Keep up the good work guys

Nothing much has changed then . . . just the names on the headset lockers.
