Cheers for help, yes I am aware of Google. I was under impression that ATCO vacancies weren't listed alongside jobs in Burger King/Duty Free etc etc. But then I've not looked at non BAA or NATS before.

perhaps because...
“Burger King” and the “Whopper” are two of the most recognisable names around the world. With total commitment to quality, Burger King prides itself on its “taste the difference” ethos.
The unique flamed-grilled burgers are made from 100% beef and always served quickly, efficiently and with a smile. In Burger King, Customer satisfaction is a requirement, not an option.
Let's not forget about Greggs though.
The North East’s favourite baker has its very own airport store, located in the main check-in hall next to International Arrivals.
Greggs serves up great value sandwiches, savouries and other baker-fresh food on the go. They make delicious sweet treats too, including muffins and iced buns.
If you’re traveling abroad, why not take a true taste of the North East with you – the famous local stotties are baked daily on site.

Honestly I'm not joking! I can recall the scene quite clearly when a young(ish) TWR controller arrived at the top of the stairs to plug in after his break when I visited the old VCR at Newcastle a few years ago now.
'Wheey I've just had a Beeuurrger King' he announced in his slight Geordie dialect to his collegues as he made his arrival. Alarmed at first but then I thought ok perfectly normal. Loyally Keeping the airport services in business as an airport employee I thought, thats all. He could have brought with him a Doner Kebab takeaway from off the Bigg Market for all I care and heated up in the staff microwave for his Tea!!
Perhaps controllers at Heathrow would be inclined to choose a more healthier alternative for dinner!

Classicwings.. You're right. Would we lower ourselves to Grimsby Burgers when there were steaming hot brekkers available from a certain airline? Many's the time I've sat in Heathrow Approach with the line of us noshing into omelette, sausages and mushrooms. How the elite live, eh?
I bet Newcastle has never been the same since JC left.........

I bet Newcastle ATC never used to have BBQs on the balcony of the Tower like I know you guys used to have at Heathrow! You know which photo of you I am referring to!! An extra layer of clothing would have been a requirement up there I'm sure.................
Cheers

There was a thread around last autumn about the then state of Newcastle Air Traffic. Here.
Perhaps persons in the know might be able to shed some light upon whether the situation has improved or not?

NCL Situation
I understand that NCL have lost at least 6 experienced ATC staff (controllers and assistants) in the last 6 months; with more still looking to escape- this surely tells a story!!!!!
