So, what's happening in SA??
Longer shifts, I got that from the earlier threads. What does that mean, no brakes at all for how long?

I would also be interested in knowing what happend to all the boys and girls applying for a job through the advertisement. Anyone arrived or ATNS changed their mind?

Anyway, good luck to you all during the SWC and beyond!

Foreign Help

Well I gues ATNS changed their mind.Nil assistance arrived for FAJS.Only the "TOOLS" that I mentioned earlier from France,USA,New Zeeland and OZ.
Shifts were planned and tried for 3 weeks with 2 hours on/ half hour off, 2 on 1/2 off and 2 on 1/2 off!!( 7 hours) Used to be 6 hours with 1 hour + 2 x 1/2 hour breaks. So shifts lengthened and breaks shortened.People were really taking strain.
We managed to reach an agreement on Monday that will give us 1 hour + at least another 1/2 hour break for the WC.
Could really have done with some help!!!

Bets

Oranpo - Only 2???So that's 8 in total?

Time to place your bets again. How many resignations within 6 months after WC2010?

OK, a lot still depends if the retainer contracts will be cancelled in August.( rumour) I believe our "Fearless Leader" wants to continue with these shifts beyond the WC.( fact ) I heard that management wants to look at the retirement age again (rumour) and the cancellation of salarynotches ( rumour) financial sustainability (rumours ) etc etc hmmmm
Ok my bets are ( if retainer gets cancelled ) 1. FAJS Radar = 3
2. Acc N/S = 3 3. Acc Central/East 4 4. Twr = 4 The new SERCO contract in Abu Dhabi might attrack quite a few Twr guys all over the countrey. A real difficult one this....I bet 22 countreywide!!

I sure hope so makeapull, so far there have been a few busy spells, but more bla bla fishpaste to hilite the ineptitude of some people and sectors.

I have enjoyed the night shift toasted sandwiches by management, but then again, I've always been so easy to please

SA ATF

With a a few resignations on this side, OMAA Acc, projected requirement will be +- 15 in the next year or so, we got 8 CVs from ZA JHB Acc , was approached by the CATCO , all look good, most of them haven't worked with them, but from word if mouth, good to go except 1 guy, heard some really dodgy stories bout this one, ex ATA, real tempremental one, was here before, not wanted again. Keep them separated guys and gals at fajs, keep a cool tool and tight ass

Contract Joke

Background- ATC signed 4 year contract 4 years ago.ATC thinks 4 years ago that contract expires end of March 2011.ATC started looking for greener pastures 1 year ago.ATC commit to greener pastures 6 months ago.ATC give ATNS 3 months notice about resignation.Company says no you cannot resign whilst still under contract ie you can only resign after midnight of 31 March 2011 and then you must give 3 months notice!!!ATC very peeed off. ATC's friends see ATC gets treated like pooh.ATC's friends also peed off.

This is not a joke!! This is really happening at Jo'burg !One guy that tried to do it the right way and he gets screwed even worse than the guys and girls that were in breach of their contracts.Nice and then every year we must complete a survey about the "Best company to work for"!!!Once again this is just prove that an ATC in RSA is just a piece of chewinggum. They will chew you until there is no juice left and then they will try to stick you somewhere to dry.
C'mon ATNS management get real!!

New salary

Hi Guys

What's the catch with this new offer?According to the law of averages (trackrecord from the past) there must be a catch. And yes the bottles started to tumble again....
You are correct again Juggie, the law of avereges did apply and once again we got screwed

An ATCO3 on a 10 year scale not working JS or CPT got a whopping R1000 increase whohoo

We all thought this was a good deal, I think not. Thanks to Solidarity for painting a pretty picture (like you can look at an increase of at least R3000) but I am sorry we got the wrong one.

So I wonder who is going to stay now? At least we don't have any contracts, that's the only good news of this crappy deal.

New SID's and STARS

Can someone please explain how do you move a point 8 nm further away from a conflicting point/route ( 4.8 nm apart) and then you publish/design a procedure that manage to bring the routes 1 nm closer to each other ( 3.8 nm apart )???.It's like saying "We did not have enough reductions-let's try and have some more!! 8 years of planning and designing, well done!!
Maybe it will help if ATC's that work this stuff get involve or get consulted to prevent 1."hand-amend the hand-amendment 2. cancel this and cancel that 3.Non standard to be used here and standard to be used there etc etc etc.... BUT .... once again the ATC's will make it work and someone, somewhere will pop a huge bonus or walk away with a huge consulting fee.
By the way the bottles starting to tumble again!!( with 3 months and 24-hour notices)
Don't fear,MAESTRO is looking after you!!
