Your logic aint quite right!
You're mixing leave and days off into one pot. Actual leave is the amount of days you should be in work that you are not i.e. 31+10 = 42.
Mon-Fri workers don't count the Saturday and Sunday either side of their 5 days holiday as leave - why should we? We have a 4 day weekend - that's all.
If you want to split hairs and state how many days you actually do not work i.e. leave plus days off, (as opposed to merely counting leave) then it's more like:
365 days a year divided by 10 = 36.5 10-day cycles per year
36.5 multiplied by 6 = 219 actual attendance days, (before taking off leave allowance).
219 - 42 (leave allowance+PH) = 177
177 + 2 days 'owed' to the company for timesheet balancing = 179 days a year worked
365-179 = 186 days a year not at work. however only 42 of these days are actually leave
In comparison an office worker working Mon-Fri with 4 weeks leave (20 days) plus PH would work approx 230 days per year after weekends etc are taken off
Your logic aint quite right!
As to leave, I get 3 months per year.....To explain, I start my leave on my last work day. I have [up to] 4 days off, followed by 6 days leave, followed by 4 days off. Ergo 14 days off, 6 days leave taken, and I get 31+10 days leave/PH per year

What you are talking about here is attendances, not days worked. The figures are correct if you assume that working till 0630 on day 7 of the cycle actually constitutes a day off-I don't. It is a rest day and the days off proper commence on day 8.
And for ATCOs we do an additional 3 days for extraneous duties like TRUCE etc.

I do permanent nights - I count day 7 (I work till 0700) as a day off; dress it up as rest day or whatever it's all down to how individuals see it (and yes, I know it is called a rest day officially).
Otherwise I might get uppity because people doing morning or afternoon spins get a day extra per cycle off compared to me, using your way of thinking!
Seen your way you add 36.5 days to the 'working' days a year then - still not a bad total...
My mistake with the additional days (which are there to make up hours worked) - yes traditionally used for TRUCE or any other non op thing they want us to perform... 2/3 - doesn't really affect the price of fish!

I'm sure you won't get this as you said you were leaving the thread - but i'll say it anyway!
The beautifully arranged chaos we see most mornings thru STU is most certainly noticed! We are all amazed at how you manage to get so many planes to converge at 1 point at the same time - ever thought of taking up fighter control?
On a more serious note though, we, as WestEnd controllers, have now been asked to stream inbounds to Paris and Brussels - the idea being that the earlier you start the less you have to do.
If there is one thing you guys could do to help us out a teensy bit please put the first in line lowest!!!!
It happens regularly that number 1 comes at FL330 followed 2 miles later by number 2 at FL310 followed another 2 miles later by number 3 at FL290! would be a hell of a lot easier if they were the other way around!
