Best route to Coventry

Hello all,
I am planning a trip to Coventry.
Leaving the Channel area I would like to
hear your opinion about the best (easiest) way
to continue to COVENTRY. My plans are to follow
the VOR's Brookmans P. / Bovingdon / Daventry
OR crossing the Luton CTR and then further on to
DTY. We are two experianced VFR/IFR pilots but
fly a non IFR airplane.
Greetings from Switzerland
Peter

Suggest that to minimise the possibility of being re-routed by ATC, you plan at altitude 2400 ft (maximum) to route Brookmans Park VOR/DME - Bovingdon VOR/DME - Daventry VOR/DME - Coventry. Enjoy the trip.
