Not particularly, blip driving has no relavance to an ATSAs job.

If you you do have previous experience as an ATSA at an airfield, send your CV to every non NATS airport you would like to work at and even a few you would rather not.
Find out the name of the GMATS or ATSM and address it to them, not just "GMATS or ATSM/SATCO".

Keep it to two sheets of A4 (with a handwritten - NOT typed - covering letter) and just sell yourself whilst remaining honest (aviation's a small world - it's possible to find out anything about anybody in a matter of hours).
If you do get called for interview, you'll be competing with local and internal company candidates who do not need relocation expenses, so keep your expectations relaistic and reasonable.

Ultimately, you may have to take a job somehwere you'd rather not be but experience leads to greater and better opportunities if you're willing to make a few sacrifices.

Blip driving is the job for dozens of ATSAs at Swanwick (and the college of knowledge). Both recruit externally generally.

If you blip drive for NATS then there are loads of ATSA vacancies on the intranet at the moment, including posts at Manch and Swanwick.

If you're non-NATS then I suggest contacting HR. It's always worth a try!

Squirrel

If you have been "blip-driving" with enthusiasm and interest, I would view your experience as being very relevant as you should have a good appreciation of what the ATC task is all about.

We had one of those who transferred in.....lasted less than a month.Said it was a totally different job and he couldn't cope

He resigned from NATS.

CessnaLee.....we can't recruit externally until we have filled the vacancies INTERNALLY. Good luck with your quest.
