ATC in Dar-Es-Salaam, TZA
I have been flying in DAR since 1992, i want to know about VIP movements...in DAR when there is a VIP movement, all other traffic is adviced to "standby start/taxi due VIP movement"...it could be so irritating and inconvenient...we once taxyied out of JNB to DAR together with 5H-ONE (presidential G 550) with the president on board, seemed like operations continue normally with VIP movements in JNB...WHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD IS MOVEMENT PUT ON STBY UNTIL VIP IS "SAFELY" AIRBORNE?...plz somebody advice

Bahrain has in the past shut down the airport while the Sheikh/King landed departed. I'm not sure if it still happens, but the boys in Bahrain can answer that I'm sure.

To be honest... I thought majority of places made the MATZ 'sterile' for +/-15 of the ETA/D? And then once the AC is airborne, its Ops Normal?Maybe im wrong.
I know in my time in the RAF they would stop movements for arrivals/departures, and restrict circuits due to purple airspace?
Im constantly seeing NOTAMs popping up due to VIP movemements that may cause disturbance to schedules.
