NATS and Zed Fares/ID90

Hi all, sorry new to the forum, but not sure if this topics been posted before...

Just wondering if NATS ATCOs are entitled to any ZED Fares or ID fares on airline travel?? I realize that these are entitled to airline staff, but in some places these priviledges are extended to the ATC staff too...

Could anyone shed some light on this?

GATCO also have their own travel scheme.

Thank you for the reply!

So all UK ATC staff get travel discounts? what kind of discounts are they? I mean will they be jump seats, or just fares similar to the zed fares...

Not as a passenger on a sub load ticket. The fares vary from carrier to carrier. Look at the UKATTS site.....

Vavavoom,

Flights can range from admin/tax only or ID90 standbys to say ID50 or more confirmed. There are a large number of airlines offering concessions and all are different. Pre 911 we used to have jump seat deals with some airlines, I went to the States and back with Continental on the jump seat for example once, but with the increased security following 911 they all went out of the window.

There's also access to many of the Interline companies that offer discounted deals to travel industry and airline staff and also deals with car hire companies and the like. From very small beginnings UKATTS has grown in to quite a sophisticated and comprehensive service and for that the folk that run it on our behalf are to be thanked many times over.

If you're in the air traffic sector, even if not in the UK, drop the secretary a note and I'm sure she'll give you further info as she can.

If Vavavoom was involved in the ATC business, he/she would be fully aware of the options available for discounted travel and the associated terms and conditions.

I smell the blood of someone not entitled or possibly a journo'

No big deal, what is there to hide?

Plenty of other occupations get related discounts and the like, bankers and cheap loans, shop staff get discounts etc etc.

Does the UKATTS allow companions to travel at these discounted rates, or is it just the staff member? Site is showing under construction at the moment, so I couldn't see anything.
Cheers, U_T_T
