Stage 2 Result

Hi,

Thanks for all the info that everyone has provided already.

I recently took the Stage 2 Assessment and got through to take the DART test. I was just wondering how long it took before people were given the result of their test? I've seen a few people saying that they heard the next day, and it's been longer than that. I wasn't going to hold my breath given how long it took from passing Stage 1 to having the Stage 2, but then I started reading things on here...

Any help or reassurance would be much appreciated.

If anyone would like to, feel free to ask about Stage 2 whilst it's still relatively fresh in my mind, and I'll try to help if I can.

Stage 3

Did stage 2 today and I think I did reasonably well on the DART. Not getting my hopes up too soon but can anyone who's done stage 3 recently (since they changed the application format) give me an idea of what it is? What sort of things will I be quizzed on? I've never had an interview before so I'm not too sure what to expect! Would like to be as prepared as possible in case I do happen to pass stage 2.

EDIT: For anyone wondering for info about stage 2: The FEAST is pretty much the online stage 1 tests. There's an app you can get for like €25 but don't waste your money on it. They aren't really tests you can prepare for, and the whole point of the FEAST is that you should be able to do it on the spot.

DART is guiding aircraft on a radar screen. Again, not really essential to prepare for this. Improving your multitasking skills wouldn't do any harm though. It was fairly similar to a lot of the ATC games you find online.

Hi all,

I've recently passed Stages 0+1, and I'm waiting for the invitation for Stage 2. I haven't received any invitation yet (in the email I've received about Stage 2, it speficied "We are not currently holding any assessment dates"), which I thought was something to expect given the fact most of you have been waiting for months (even years!); however, the NATS Twitter account said the following today:
https://twitter.com/NATSCareers/stat...04466348318720
Are you waiting for #TATC Stage 2 testing? Slots are now open - Please book before all slots go. Testing is between 11th and 19th Jan 2016.
Is there anything I'm missing here? Because I'm waiting for the Stage 2 testing but I don't know how to book a slot (there was no link in the email they sent me when I passed Stage 1).

I've even checked my account in the "vacancies system" of NATS, in the "Event Invitations" section, but I don't have any invitation there.

Thanks in advance!

I imagine you just have to wait for them to email you the link. I waited fourteen months for the link and another six months before a date was actually available on the link.

Thank you very much LouiseFraser. It's a pity knowing I have to wait several months, but at least now I know I'm not missing anything, as I was afraid of that.

Good luck!

April 2016 course in Brisbane

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I was lucky enough to make it through and offered a position on the course starting in Apr 2016, and in Brisbane not Melbourne.
It would be great to hear from anyone else out there starting on the same course. Feel free to PM me.
Good luck everyone else.

Brisbane? Is that in the North or in the South of the UK, mate?

Hi all,

Recently got given my stage 3 interview for 25th Jan! (Exciting times)

Bit confused though, states its just a competency based interview but lasts 8am - 4pm... Anyone have any insight as to why this is? What else have we got to do on the day?

Thanks.

I've got my stage 3 on the 25th Jan too, see you there cpteffron! I managed to pass my last minute stage 2 test so if anyone is wondering if its possible, it is! You can't really practice for it, just answer quickly and accurately. Put as bluntly as I was advised beforehand, you either can do it or you can't. It may seem harsh but it should give you confidence if you pass.

I do have the same question as cpteffron, it may simply be a defined time period to allow people to organise transport to and from the CTC and the interview itself will be at some point within that period. The rest of the time you just wait maybe? Again, any pointers would be greatly appreciated either on here or as a PM.

Regards

It's changed in format since I did it a few years ago, but at that point a large proportion of that time was spent waiting your turn for an interview. The majority of the day was spent chatting to the other people on your Stage 3.

NATS stage 2/ 3

So This is my second time applying for NATS, last time I failed on the competency based interview, I have my stage 2 coming up on the 13th of Jan, hopefully I'll make it back to stage 3 and pass where I went wrong last time.

for those doing stage 2, theres not much you can do to prepare for it, what I did last time for prep was find games that involve you multitasking and ask a friend to read out simple maths questions to you and ask you to wait 20 seconds to give the answer while still playing the game on your iPad or what ever. Felt this helped the most. As for Stage 3, it's tricky. I can't give any advice as I didn't pass last time, just be prepared for tricky questions, and what ever you do don't panic (Like I did).

Good Luck all

Just wondering if you can give any sort of info of what to prepare for? Will they ask the usual "tell me about yourself" or "why do you want the job" etc. ? It says "competency based interview" so I'm not exactly sure what they're looking for.
