AH help

I was told visiting a NATS station was pretty much necessary for the stage 3 interview, but hell at 5pm yesterday i got an invite for friday morning, and well i just cant get the extra time of work and don't think i can organise one in 48 hours (have to leave thursday to get there) what should i do, would researching what all the stations do and the differences between them be enough?

I am concerned that the short notice has put me at a major disadvantage...

That is crazy mate....giving you 2 days to prepare is pretty terrible (i hope you've did a bit of prep before hand to make it not so difficult for you). I really do think though that a big part of the interview is on your motivation for ATC...and I think 'I only got 2 days notice so didn't have enough time' would sound pretty bad in an interview - even though it's a completely valid response. Is there no way at all you can arrange a visit for the day before your interview? If not...do you know any Air Traffic Controllers to phone and ask/interview ? If it were me...I'd e-mail them and ask when a different stage 3 date will become available - if you've made the journey THIS far...there is no point in throwing it away on the final hurdle. So you have to wait a little longer...it gives you so much more time to prepare, and that is only a positive thing!

All the best mate!

I fully intend to attend this interview. I have been given a chance and i am adamant about taking it. I have emailed HR requesting a visit at swanwick the day before my interview. the reason i had not visited yet was that i wanted to do it in the week or two prior as it would be freshest in my mind.

Mighty goose

I TOTALLY agree with gazb2 if you do not feel well prepared! Remember, NATS are looking for fully prepared candidates as opposed to just making the numbers so the supposed 'opportunity' would be of no benefit to you at all if you were to underperform due to lack of adequate time to prepare.

Even NATS I believe would advise you of the same should you need to re-schedule!

You are so close now, don't throw it away except ofcourse you are confident and feel adequately prepared.

It's all in the thread

Start by doing what NATS tells you, study the motivational paper. You might also want to revise some Speed/Distance/time calculations.

In the end the most important in my opinion is how ever to get a good nights sleep, a proper breakfast and then do your best. These tests are a lot about aptitude (the first two papers of stage 1 and part of stage 3 excempted) so it's not that much you can do to prepare.

Good luck

On a side note, have nobody from stage 3 on the 31st heard anything yet? Oh well, "no news is good news" I suppose

SKOS,

Hi! The process is basically the same with the only difference being that they mark the first 2 tests and tell you if you pass or not before letting you sit the next two!

I actually think the tests were EXACTLY the same, if my memory serves me well lol. Not that I could remember the answers HAH

Yesterday was my 15th working day and still no results, so I am getting impatient

Hi all, long time reader first time poster.

Got my 1st test stage on 24th June at Whiteley, first time time going for it. Having trouble remembering some of the plane specs from the motivational paper. Are there likely to be specific questions about these or more like "plane 'X' is going from 'Y' to 'Z', choose (from multi choice) which plane is best suited.

Anyone else got their test this day?

Seb,

What time were your tests on the 20th? and also it was at whiteley right?

I was at the 9am exams - and specifically remember the lovely lady replying to my question with - 'results by wednesday'

emailed them today and tried calling on friday - no response.

Keep updating if you have heard anything and good luck

Don't worry GingerTD, I also had my stage 1 on May 20th, and have kept in touch with quite a few people from the day, none of whom have heard back... we just have to be patient! Good luck!

I thought 15 was last Friday, of course the bank holiday would make it today.

Anyway, no response here yet either.

Hi, i've been reading this thread for quite awhile now. It's been very helpful in my preparation for my NATS application process.

I have my stage 1 exams on Friday morning in Fareham. Anyone else going to those?

How many people should I expect to be taking the exams with me?
