Hi,

has any one got or could PM me the number to contact recruitment team as I have not had any replys since I have re-applied over a month ago. Is any one else waitin for invitation for a 1st stage or had any problems with applying apart from me and the other guy from here ? It's getting frustrating now, it was pretty quick last year.

Completed the online test earlier today. Felt it went well, did the practice set twice and got 23/25 both times (don't know if that's good or not for this). I know I got 2 wrong for sure in the assessment one.

Anyone know the waiting times for an e-mail from NATS regarding what next (or not)? I've been told about 3 days or so by a friend.

EDIT: I was been an OTT fool, received my Stage 1 invitation this morning. Will look at dates soon

problem

At 15 mph, how far do you travel in 2 hours and 8 mins?,

The answer is 32, out of which 15x2=30,... But how would I figure out the distance in 8 min??, surely there should be an easier way than 15X0,133... I mean, to multiply that in your head ain't easy

What speed covers 95 miles in 25 mins?, now this one... 95000/416?=228 --> are we suppsd to know how to do this mentally?

I am Back

Hi boys and girls!

I have just applied AGAIN for NATS. I reached stage 3 last year and to my devastation failed. So I am back for round 2

Just a quick bit of info please....It has now been two days since i submitted my application online and still no invitation to the online test. Last year I received my invitation within 12 hours. Maybe the times have changed or I was just lucky before. How long has it been taking for you lot?

Thanks

Seb

@SebbyK

I sent my application at 20:45 on Monday and received my online test invitation at just after 09:00 on Tuesday so something doesn't seem right. I'd email them

luisjuan,

I always find these sort of questions have an easier way of solving than the long multiplication!

e.g 15mph = 60/15 = 4 minutes per mile so 8 mins = 2 miles.

95miles in 25 mins, divide both sides by 5: 95/5=19 25/5 =5,
then 60/5 = 12 & 12 *19 = 228.

Simpler than the decimals! Hope this helps.

:(

Hi all ,

As my stage 1 interview is coming closer it feels like i haven't done any sort of revision for it especially for S/D/T and spatial reasoning and diagramming. So i thought I'll ask here about any specific books people have used or are using especially for S/D/T and numeracy? I did buy some books regarding IQ tests , mental arithmetic tests ( specifically for interviews) but they were rubbish Help por favor? it would be really appreciated

Thank-you,
N

P.S. Anyone has Stage 1 on 13th May in Fareham ?

I tried a ton of stuff to prepare for stage 2, I don't belive it made much diffrence on my score. So just find some fun games and play those, it might help you a bit and it'll be good fun

I liked Tetris myself, turns out you can play Tetris online against other people, and use combos and stuff to try and beat the others! I spent many hours on that during the christmas holiday

fuel calc

Hi, anybody knows an easy and quick way to resolve fuel calculations like the two under?, I do get down to the solution but it neccesarily takes me to the use of pen and paper due to the complexity of the operations and that's precisely what I wanna avoid... thankss

You travel 1012 miles. How much fuel will you need if you burn 180 kgs per hour, and are travelling at 1380 mph?

You have used 88 kgs of fuel in the past 2 hours and 45 mins. How much do you burn per hour?

Really appreciate your help!!!

Think I can do this one, although not sure this is the simplest or fastest way.

Basically its asking you 88 divided by 2.75
It is easier for me if I express 2.75 as a fraction, so 11 quarters (or 11/4)
88/(11/4)
You can then times 88 by the inverse of the fraction.
=(88x4)/11
=352/11
=32

Or another way actually, still think of 2 hrs 45 mins as 11/4 hours..
Divide 88 by 11 which equals 8..
If you add another 1/4 to the total, i.e. 12/4, that equals 96 kgs in 3 hours..
You can then simply divide 96/3= 32

27 feb 2011- Questions about NATS recruitment test!

hi everybody ...
i'm new here (PPRuNe Forums),i've got my log just for some minutes ago!!

i passed the Online test for NATS in January and i've booked my next test " assessment day one " on 15th April at Parkway.
i really fancy becoming an Air Traffic Controller...and i'm really worried for this test!!
Can anybody let me know some information about the test??
What is it about?? which kind of questions does it include?
Some Advice...??!!!
and i would like to understand if in this my next test there are just questions about the "NATS RECRUITMENT GUIDE" (that i've received by email) or also are there questions about Maths, spatial reasoning test, and a diagrammatic reasoning test?

Please....some help is requested!!
I'm looking forward to receive them.....

Hello Giuseppe! phase 1 at NATS consists in a series of tests. The first test is about the material / documents NATS provides you (25 sheets I think) and a numeracy test. If you pass these tests you take another 2 tests, quote (from NATS): "a spatial reasoning test, and a logical analysis test called Diagramming".
So, you will take 4 tests if lucky

Hope to have helped you

Cheers

EDIT: by the way, I'm also attending phase 1 on Fareham, 15th April at 10:00 AM

First of all good luck to both of you.

Giuseppe,

I would suggest reading back through at least the last 10 pages of this thread for useful information/

Hello again Giusepp. I think that when you are invited to attend these tests, you are supposed to do them in a couple of hours (I think 2 hours 30 minutes).
Cheers
