NATS Medical Standards Question
I have a friend who is interested in becoming an Air Traffic Controller. Her eyesight is close to the limit for a Class 1 medical but she will probably get one.
Does NATS have it's own medical requirements on top of holding a Class 1 medical? ie. Does her eyesight have to be significantly better than Class 1 standard to be suitable for employment, despite holding a Class 1 medical?
I only ask as my employer (Big Airways) has it's own initial medical which, certainly when I went through a few years ago, was more stringent than the CAA.

No, although extremely thorough, NATS adopt the CAA Medical Class one standard.
If it's any help, tell your freind to consult the best optomotrist they can find prior to the medical, tell them its for a CAA Medical, and things should be OK.
