List of top salary for ATCO??

Hi!
I been looking around on the forum, and there are a lot of threads about our money ....but not been able to find any thread wich collect that all together....what are we getting paid around the world? So I hope U all can help making a list of the top ATCO and SUP. salaries around the world.

(And try too keep the list easy and simple...without too much extra writing...like this : )

Norway:
ATCO max. : 101.000 EUR = 129.000 USD
SUP max. : 106.000 EUR = 136.000 USD

Abu Dhabi TWR/APP, United Arab Emirates

Serco contract excluding pension and schooling but including housing allowance. Cannot give you a maximum since the annual basic salary increase is 3-5%

It comes to roughly 80.000 USD the first year (tax free) for an ATCO without any endorsements or further responsibilities.

Salaries

Surely if we are going to compare salaries across the board they should be after tax, if you pay any. Post tax salaries would then only have to take local cost of living into account.
I think Dr Evil's quote of 80,000USD is a little mis-leading. It includes accommodation allowance, all of which goes towards either paying rent or a mortgage, and so you wouldn't see any of it in your pay packet as such.
I believe more realistically it's more like 51,000USD (ish) as a base salary plus your allowances. Top salaries for supervisors would be somewhere in the order of 65-70,000USD.
Those allowances like accommodation, schooling, health insurance etc are just essential for living in this part of the world. Most schooling would be free in home countries so if you don't have property back home your saving on not having to pay for accommodation costs.
The nature of how the salary and allowances are packaged differs from unit to unit.

With such a great pay deal I wonder why Serco are always advertising then?
Now I've got more cash in my hands than I used to back home! As Red Dragon is saying is true, you cannot compare so easily between countries. I just know that my living standard is higher in the UAE than my home country. And that's probably why many wants to come here, even with Serco around

I think Dr Evil's quote of 80,000USD is a little mis-leading. It includes accommodation allowance, all of which goes towards either paying rent or a mortgage, and so you wouldn't see any of it in your pay packet as such.
Just like back home right? You can by a tent in Ace Hardware and move out to Rub Al Khali or buy property or rent or share or whatever Its your call. But I would say after the housing allowance is deducted its more likely to be around 60.000$ in your hands in Abu Dhabi.

Big Mac Rule

Apply the Big Mac Rule to see who is really the winner!
Divide your total after-tax income by the cost of a Big Mac in your country of employment. Let's see who's got the most Macs!
Mine this year was AUD$67,288 after tax. I am on level 6 of 14.
Cost of Big Mac in Australia - AUD$3.20
This works out at 21,027.5 Big Macs.
Lets go team, Mac away!
Cheers,
NFR.

UAE area is 33,000 dh's a month tax free. Out of that if you are a single guy you are paying about 5,000 a month for accomodation and say another 3,000 for medical insurance, utilities (power, water etc.) which are things in the normal world you pay out of after tax dollars. But lets just deduct those things and see whats left. About 25,000 dh's beer and food money per month. That is 6,800 US dollars a month after tax and after major living expenses. $81,600 US a year after tax, after rent, after medical insurance, after electricity bill paid, and after water bill and phone rental paid.

Big mac rule here would be 10 dh's per Big Mac (may be 9 dh's not sure) so 30,000 Big Macs. Cheers.

Well to be honest not a Big Mac man myself. Maybe it should be the Heineken index. In that case it would be about 25,000 heinekens in Abu Dhabi. Either way you would have to actually die in the doctors office to not get a medical at a certain Dr Deaths office in Abu Dhabi, which is a good thing.

I think we should use the big mac index in the Middle-east. With the cost of Heiniken it sounds better............... Like dollars against the euro I 'spose.

Not your average size big mac!
In South Africa the 12 year salary scale (top) is R414 000 (excluding station allowance) Highest station allowance (JNB App/Acc) 12 x R7800 = R93600.
Tax on this about 33 percent (average tax - taking into account different tax rates for different parts of salary.)
Therefore R414 000 + R93 600 = R507 600 - R167 508 (tax) = R340 092
Big Mac part is harder, I would guess around R13.95.
Therefore we can scoff 24 379.35 burgers a year!
Cheers

Makeapullup, then if you are only getting 24,000 big macs in Joburg, you should certainly be out here in the Sand pit. Not only will you get a job ahead of all the Europoeans who can't get an answer from the powers that be, but give it 6 months here and you will have one of the high paying LEKKER jobs, cos you're a fellow "OAK".

Hey ANSA, sounds KIFF
Also remember my burgers must still be shared with Rent,Services, car ,schooling etc so only left with about 40% after. (Refer previous post about deductions in UAE)
One thing, I can at least enjoy my burgers outside! (Granted provided i'm in a boomed off armed complex!)
Cheers

We can enjoy our burgers outside. Its a hot and sweaty task right at this moment, but most of the year, it is perfect burger and beer weather for outside. You haven't lived till you have spent a pleasant evening sitting outside having a few beers and some pub grub at either Captains Arms here in Abu Dhabi or Irish Village in Dubai. But what am I doing I shouldn't be encouraging you to come here otherwise we will never bring down the Serco Mafia we have here right now. Bugger off and Stay Away please!!!!
