EGLL - volunteers required.

I have been asked by a very nice lady at HAL (BAA) for some help with their Heathrow Visitors' Open Day on Sunday June 4th, to be held at the Visitors' Centre on the Northside.

Basically, she is looking for volunteers - somebody with a knowledge of aircraft and/or ATC, to do a commentary (over the Tannoy) of all the arriving or departing aircraft on 27R, for the benefit of the visitors.

How long you want to do is up to you - 1 hour, 2 hours, whatever - your choice, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Being a volunteer, there's no dosh involved, but you do get access to the hospitality tent!!

So, if there's any aspiring radio jocks/spotters/ATC bods past and present out there who want to help out, please PM me with your details and I'll put you in touch with the lady at HAL.

Thanks

WH

HD - I'm sure they would appreciate some wise words from an ex-ATC bod, so if you're up for it...........

HD/PB/ACE - now all three of you together - I think I could sell tickets for that!

(and think of the hospitality tent - mmmm, beer, beer, more beer. hopefully!! )

AlanM - you have simply upheld "Rule One" of NATS - "volunteer for nothing - lumber it onto somebody else instead!"

(this could come back to haunt you!!)

(and me!!)

<<Basically, she is looking for volunteers >>

..and there's the crunch. I'll do it for £500 plus expenses.
