I have a question that I can't find the answer to in MATS Pt 2, can any of you TC boys and girls help me out?...
The majority of reporting points displayed on the Radar at TC are displayed as dots, a few of them are the triangles that Trainees from the college are more used to seeing. What's the significance of these points, the only thing I could come up with is that they make up the FIR boundary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From an engineering viewpoint .........
....... according to the documentation from the mapping unit at West Drayton, those symbols are for "Request Points".
So the next question is "What's one of them then ?"

From a Swanwick point of view, and I think possibly the answer, the dots are Reporting Points, and the triangles are actual VOR's. Search the MATS Part 1 if you need a dictionary term for those, they are explained in the first few pages! We also have squares that can be displayed which are Aerodromes.
