Here are some unit contact numbers

Hi
Earlier on I asked if anyone had any unit contact details, since then, I have found some, so have deleted the somewhat unsuccesful initial thread. If like me you got through first stage, well done sir, and here's what I've uncovered so far:

Quote:
The following contact Telephone Numbers may be used to obtain details regarding Flight Crew Familiarisation Visits. These numbers are for Flight Crew use ONLY.

LATCC 01895 426176 Jo Clare

SCATCC 01292 692699 Colin McIntyre - (Sim Sup Mgr)

MAN 0161 499 5314 John Evans

LGW 01293 575271 Note: Visits strictly limited to those who genuinely use Gatwick Tower ATC service

STN 01279 669387 Watch Manager

BHX 0121 780 0901 Liz Barlow

LTN 01582 395455 Watch Manager

EDI 0131 339 1888 Colin Hicks - Trg & Ops Mgr

GLA 0141 840 8029 Duty Watch Manager

ABZ 01224 723714

BHD 01849 422955

CWL 01446 712575

Swanwick - 01489 572288
W. Drayton - 01895 445566
LHR Tower - 020 8745 3326
London City - 020764025

Don't know how many work, just thought I'd put it up, as that quote above, which I discovered a while back, was pretty tricky to track down again, though that may be entirely to do with my lack of .
Hope this helps

Colin McIntyre isn't at ScOACC any more and I'm not sure that Colin is still the Training and Ops Manager at Edinburgh though no-doubt someone else will confirm.

God knows where you got that list from mate but it's slightly (at least 5 years) out of date.

Col McIntyre is at Scotlands second airport and Hicksy is now at SRG. Also EDI number will be for the old tower anyway; probably still rings but you'll be holding for a while!

Moderator - just a thought. Given the number of ATCO hopefuls who ask how to arrange visits, would there be any value in a 'sticky' containing a list of volunteer ppruners who could pm'd for visits to various units?

I think a while ago there was a rumour that word from the top was that all visits had to be arranged through recruitment?

Hi niteflite,
I just thought it might be worth mentioning that there seem to be some discrepancies with this policy when it comes to the the reality of applicants arranging visits - I thought that was the case myself that visits were aranged centrally, but after being told by recruitment that a visit to a unit was 'unneccessary', while at the same time being advised from just about every other source that your ATC visit is one of the first things you're asked about in the interview, I took it upon myself to contact my local unit directly. I just didn't want to take any chances. I'm sure many others are following the same line of thought...

The quoted numbers came from a CHIRP bulletin, maybe 3 or 4 years old now. They are SPECIFICALLY for aircrew, so if you are not, don't bother to avoid disappointment.

All extremely public domain by now. And a few are incorrect

As for arranging visits, I am happy to 'administer' something for those ATCOs who want to, and are able, to arrange what are essentially private visits for 'wannabees'.

Let me know your unit (by PM) and when someone requests a vist to that specific unit, I am happy to put them in touch with you.

Flight Crew??? What are they?????
I have been at TC for 5 years and have never seen such mythical creatures.
I know they exist as they speak to me on the RT but have never seen one in the flesh.

I would like to if possible have the contact details or arrange a visit with/by someone who knows details etc. to Stansted and/or Heathrow.

Please PM me!

Just to note: I am 15 years old and a wannabe ATCO!

Cheers

UK AIP has contact numbers for ATC under each specific entry in the AD section. The ACC numbers are in the ENR section.

Alternatively, any number of pilot flight guides or chart manuals will provide a similar facility.

Or there's Google.

Every single one of the above is a public domain source of course
