Crossing the FIR/UIR RT requirement

The CAAs latest guide to help improve RT standards has just arrived in our crewroom. It made no mention of crossing the FIR/UIR boundaries (or on handover to another countries airspace) with regards giving the passing level. Twice recently I was asked by Maastricht for my passing level. Anything official out there? Would you expect this of a/c arriving into UK airspace?
Thanks

SOP. It's just verification of the mode C by Maastricht.
Personally I always liked the initial call to be "C/s, passing FL for FL.Heading (if assigned)" Caught a few mistakes that way.
