Heard yesterday from 2 seperate sources that there is a feasability (spelling?) study currently underway to see if the following would work:
2002: AC goes to nerc
2004: TC goes to nerc
2004: AC moves back to LATCC
Anyone heard anything similar

Hiya Shady...
Nope, hadn't heard that particular rumour, but it has as much going for it as all the others.
My favourite rumour is that NERC will open on the night of 26th January 2002. Even the Airline Group reckon on some sort of delay. What's that? No they don't? Have a read of the glossy briefing pack that accompanies the open meetings. On the page entitled "The Immediate priorities" it says
Gonna make Monday morning intesting then innit?

We must continue the hard work to ensure a satifactory transition to NERC on the night of 27 January 2002

To keep the rumour avalanche building momentum - try the next couple!!!
Temporary Atsa's whose contracts were due to expire in Jan 02 are being asked to extend to Oct 02.
Enquiries are being made of Latcc training regarding re-starting AVC's at Latcc in Jan 02.
10 students recently sent to Latcc.
10 is the number required for an Avc to run.

Don't know about the ATSAs, but I can confirm the last bit about enquiries made about running an AVC.(We can't, by the way. Why? No staff!)
The names of those people appearing at LATCC October-ish are already with individual AC Watch training Officers. Hopefully they can get something useful out of it in these uncertain times. There is no such thing as wasted experience, you always learn something.
I feel extremely sorry for students treated this way. It is not an idea start, and not their fault, or the fault of what is left of the operational and training staff at LATCC.

I hadn't heard the AC/TC/AC NERC rumour...I don't understand why AC would come back.....
As for the AVC - as far as I understand, "they" checked whether it would be possible to run an AVC in Aries - possibly just to eliminate it as an option. As for the October students, it takes approx 3 months to train on the wings (perhaps a little less if tey are quick) and October to 'O' date is how long...?
makes you wonder

In the traditional Nats style of honesty and openness, I should like to apologise to all for an error that crept into my last posting above.
Some Atsa's have indeed had their contracts extended, but it was only up to October 01.
Sorry about that, my snout has been severely reprimanded and his winegums taken away.
Perhaps it was just wishful thinking.
