Hi there,. .. .You'd be better off trying a non-NATS unit I reckon.. .. .Not NATS policy to allow work experience placements as it's not really an environment that suits having someone inexperienced around.. .. .No harm in trying tho <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Cool

Coventry and East Midlans are non-NATS. But you may be lucky at Birmingham as I have seen work experience people at my previous unit. It all depends how much training is in progress at that unit.. .. .As to what you can expect, they will undoubtedly allow you to plug in with a headset and listen alongside a controller - but law dictates that you are not allowed to talk on the RT. They will also take you onto the airfield etc.. .. .Oddly, I did my work experience at Plymouth airport many years ago. I always got sent for the bacon rolls.........but then I still get sent!!. .. .Good luck. Have a search through here for recruitment topics etc as there have been many threads in the past.

We get work experience at EGPF all the time, the majority of them just aren't interested at all, I think it's the school that sort out the placement for them, so if you have a genuine interest then write to the manager ATC at Birmingham ( a chap called Lloyd Brown) I think??. .Explain your interest and the dates you were wanting and you never know.. .It doesn't hurt to try
