Why does there need to be a special day for the ATSAs you work with ?
At Scottish we treat them the same every day, that is as colleagues, part of the team, and above all as friends. No one makes each other cups of tea, and nor would we expect the ATSAs to. They are professionals with a job to do, the same as the ATCOs. They help make it work.
Maybe other units have a 'them and us' tribalism, but that's more to do with the people involved and their prejudices, than the job grades I would say.
At many units, having a good ATSA is the difference between sinking and swimming. So if an ATCO treats you badly, then don't go the extra mile and let him/her claw his/her way out of the mire without your extra help. Just do what you are paid to. Then the attitude may change

National ATSA day = blinding success might have to go international next year.
<<Why does there need to be a special day for the ATSAs you work with ?>>
answer = It gives us a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside and it means you get tea, biscuits and bacon sarnies one day of the year
Go ATSA's

I suspect the point was that you should be getting a good feeling every day you got to work with your colleagues
No special day should be required.
Our mob at work pay for the ATSAs wine and stuff at our Watch Xmas Lunch, so I suppose that's our Appreciation Day

Seriously now most of the folk do apprieciate us ATCAs, there are 1 or 2 bad apples but on the whole we get on well with and are respected by our colleagues, except of course by the management, but arent they out to screw every 1 ATCA and ATCO a like?

Was it? I must have missed something - either that or I dreamt I was at work on Friday (or was that a nightmare?)
"it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside"
So does pis**ng your pants - (so I am told!)
