You should have been sent a security questionnaire at the point you were invited to attend the medical.

It was a straightforward questionnaire making sure you were not a security threat and what not!

Hi all.

Well I have just returned from my last two weeks away in the Navy, and I am very happy for all you other guys who have been put forward on the Sept course. I have received my contract, so I gather the next step is for the college to send details about the induction course. I went up to Bournemouth yesterday to look for a 3 bed house for my family, apparently I am to avoid Boscombe. Is anyone else bringing there families.

If anyone would like any info on where to stay feel free to PM. There was a thread not long ago referring to where to stay, with quite a few good hints. At the moment Southbourne is quite a popular area for students.

Just one website I can offer is www.bournecoast.co.uk They currently have quite a few TATCs in their properties, and in most cases offer 3 month rental agreement rather than the regular 6 mths (I would contact them directly though, the website search function is not always totally accurate).

Hi All,

I will be going down to Bournemouth at the weekend to look for a place to stay (I'm thinking about B&B to start with) so if anyone else happens to be going this weekend and would like a cheeky pint please feel free to PM me. Still no contracts.....all being well they will come this week.

aaaabbbbcccc1111 - I have also been told to avoid Boscombe but that it's not too bad near the sea.

Did you do your medical on the 23rd June? I'm wondering because I was talking to a chap while waiting for the doctor, who mentioned that he was currently in the Navy. If so, nice to meet you sir

No news from MPS...
i think i may have been cheeky and got in by the skin of my teeth. I phoned HR just to see what the situation was i was resigned to the fact i wouldn't get the phonecalll about the 6th, so asked when MY start date would be and i was told probably june next year BUT we have one space left for the 6th sept.... i went er ermmm....
i organised my referees and as long as they email HR soon, then my contract will be posted out.
how lucky was that?
i phoned the bournecoast agents and there seems to be plenty of places around.. but helen there said someone was desperately looking for someone to share with... any of you guys?
I'll be down there for the first month by myself but hopefully my gf will be coming down later on... so what is everyone doing? there are houses there that sleep 4 or so... anyone wanna share the rent and take me (& my gf later) in ???

Chris

I'm waiting for the list of recommended B&B's gonna stay there initially.

Up for sharing though (including the gf ) except now that i read that last comment - NOT LIKE THAT! oopps! sorry

Goning down to B'mouth in 2 weeks to have a look around the area, maybe try and getinto a B&B for the first couple of weeks then see what happens.

Good to see your joining us!

I've been in contact with Helen at Bournecoast as well, she says there has been a lot of enquries for one bedrooms but no rooms! But that there are plenty places for shared apartments.

I'm going down next week to see what I can find out, got three to look at so far that I found on the web.

The list should be with us by tomorrow or Monday, I spoke with the college today and they said the packs should be posted tonight.

I would prefer not to go into a B&B, but if that is the way then that is the way!

Catch you later

Craig

Hi Chrisf,

Thats great news, feel a little down that i'm not on it though with you all

I did what you did, rang HR over two weeks ago and asked about start dates and they said sometime next year and def not in september, which was what i was really hoping for. !!

When did you first make your application Chris, I did in in november 03 and they said they allocate the places by initial date of first contact. (Ie submission of application form.)

Good Luck to you all, spare a thought for me who seems to have been left behind!!

Boy do I feel jealous, just cant wait to start!! !!

You never know, perhaps im next on the list, but a wee bit close to Sept 6th now i guess - nevermind!!
