Waiting is a killer! I advise that you phone up - that's how I got my result, then a week later I phoned again to ask where my e-mail was as I was worried I'd imagined that I'd passed , and they sent the e-mail to me then. I think someone's been on holiday with no cover! good luck

I chased them today for my results, but got an answer phone so left a message in the vain hope they will get back to me....

I telephoned 2 weeks ago - i'm still waiting on them getting back to me.

Saying that i sent them an e-mail last week about expenses and they acknowledged the e-mail today -

Mickrobbo - don't hold your breath for a quick reply - but you probably know that already!

Does anyone get thru to HR first time now, or is it automatically defaulted to answer phone...this is a new thing they have introduced cos I could get through to them after my first selection date, as I had to do a lot of chasing. Looks like it might be harder this time!!

Answer machine is they way ahead i'm afraid.

My gripe is why does it say leave amessage and somebody will get back to you later today - when quite obviously they don't do that!

the should just say we'll get back to you in the next couple of days! that way they wouldn't look so unprofessional!

I spoke to HR on Friday, they said that due to a back log I would receive my result towards the end of this week.

They weren't sure of a particular day though.

Dave,

I know what you're going through, I would wait by the window to look for the postman, and if it hadn't come by Saturday I would be gutted because there was no post Sunday. I rang them in the end because I was going away so I told them I needed the result now, and they gave it me. They will know how you got on, just speak to Vicky ( she is very helpful), if you are lucky enough to get through

Well Dave, did you get your results as promised or is it more false hope? I have left 3 messages with HR whose voicemail says they will call you back same day, yet to have a returned call 5 days on...!

Interview Manchester

Hello All,
I've still got the tests to come yet..was told that I would have to wait until September to sit the tests in Manchester.

Any lessons learnt would be appreciated.

In the meantime good luck to you all.

Avi.

Lesson learnt:

Patience is most definately a virtue. Without it you will have a stressful application process...

Miss Manchester,

I may be wrong but i believe that under the data protection act and freedom of information act anything they hold with your name on must be accessible by yourself?

Therefore they must tell you what information they hold about you, that includes results of exams etc.

I may be wrong and i'm sure somebody will point it out if i am!

Hope that helps - you can only ask again!!

Me too Dave!

Got a very big thin very wet envelope about half an hour ago.

So I'm going to listen to the pixies for a while and go out and get some champagne and party through the early afternoon!
(I'd party through the night but I have to be at work at half 5 tomorrow)

Congrats

Interview - Manchester

Congrats Dave and Gilaine!

As you can see from my post above - I've still got the tests to come.

I can't get my head round the spatial tests - rotation of cubes.

Is there any magic formula to solve these problems or is it a case of either you've got it or just haven't?

I've been practicing the mental arithmetic with my 9 year old nephew, but I'm terrified by the cubes!!!

I think you will find out that the data protection act only applies to information which is stored electronically therefore, if the results of your tests are on file as paper, which they probably are knowing NATS (because otherwise they would have to employ someone to type it all up)then you have no legal access to them. Anyway what reason would they have for lying to you? Paranoia not a good trait in a controller maybe that came out in your personality test

Nothing like kicking someone when they are down, Twiglet.
I think that sort of attitude doesn't belong here.

MissM... sorry to hear about your result. It isn't the end of the world, and there are other ways of getting a career as an ATCO, i.e as an ATCA initially before getting SERCO or someone similair to put you on a course, or even the military.
Chin up,
best of luck.
(PS I've been there as well, but managed to get my courses eventually).
