Interview Manchester

Hi

I had my interview yesterday at Manchester, Just wondered If anyone else had their interview recently and how they felt it all went?

I had mine last week in Birmingham. I felt it went OK, I even enjoyed it a bit!

I don't think you can tell too much how the personnel one went though, just got to wait and see.

I so desperately want to get in and the waiting is terrible - I'm already checking my e-mail all the time just in case - and I probably won't hear for another week and a bit!

Good luck to you.:)

Dave_rowe 23rd Jun 2004 09:29

Thanks.

I know what you mean about the personnel interview, you get no feedback so can't tell whaether what you have said is good or bad!

I felt the technical interview went well and the aptitiude tests were ok. The second and third ones I found quite good but don't know if I fared so well on the first one!

I have my interview in Manchester tomorrow, good luck to all those yet to have the interview and fingers crossed for all those who have already had it.
Whats the format of the interview/tests? I am due to start at 12:45.

Dave_rowe 23rd Jun 2004 09:58

Mine started at 12.45 yesterday.

I had the technical interview first, then the personnel interview followed by the computer tests.

The technical interview was firstly about me and why I wanted the job and secondly my knowledge about atc equipment and my responses to various scenarios.

The personnel interview starts off by going through the application form. Then there are 60 questions along the lines of "would your friends say you had good common sense" whatever the response to these questions it is always followed by why?

sla 23rd Jun 2004 16:59

By the way, I was told the most probable start date would be June 2006 give or take 3 months! Any other dates been given?

bmb7jiw 23rd Jun 2004 19:07

When I called about my expenses they gave me the impression that March 05 was looking feasible to start and if not June 05. But who knows!!!

Dave_Rowe

Was your interview in the morning on Tuesday? I think I saw you if so. I did my personnel interview first which I thought was fine. Then the computer tests which were trickier than i would've thought. Technical interview was the opposite, there was nothing about RVSM and hardly anything on separation standards or flight strips or suchlike.

Good luck to you and all who have coming up, or have had their interviews recently. Hope to see you at the college! :ok:

Hi

My interview was in the afternoon, I also got the feeling that it would be early 2005 i.e. March but maybe thats just me being hopeful!!!

sla 24th Jun 2004 09:35

:O Sorry guys - my mistake - I'm getting my years muddled up - I meant to say June 2005, not 2006. What a dummy I am!!!

Dave_rowe 24th Jun 2004 09:56

Yeah, I was hoping you had made a mistake!!!!

Can't believe I had my interview two days ago it seems like I've been waiting for ages already!!!!

Do some people find out in less time than the 10 working days then??

bmb7jiw 24th Jun 2004 16:55

I found out 8 calendar days after my interview.
I called NATS today and they now reckon that July/October 2005 is when it will be. They also said that I would find out at least 6 months in advance, and if I had work commitments i would be able to defer.

Dave_rowe 28th Jun 2004 08:54

Realise it is still early but has anyone who was interviewed in the last couple of weeks heard anything yet?

mickrobbo 28th Jun 2004 11:09

I had my interview last Thursday so have a bit of a wait until I find out. I was a little disappointed in the tech interview as I never got asked about my visits and didn't get the chance to show what I knew, though what I was questioned about I thought I did well with. The computer tests were harder than I thought and I'm unsure how I did on the HR interview....I really hope I will get accepted as I will not be re-applying due to the length of time this process has taken already (18 mths). I can't put my life on hold for that length of time again.....shame really!

I've just found out that I was successful - I'm over the moon!!! It's still sinking in!:D :D :D

Hurray hurray hurray.:p

I had to phone up to ask, and they said the e-mails wouldn't be out for another week or so (today is my 10th working day) so I'm glad I phoned.

I'm celebrating with champagne tonight:=

Dave_rowe 1st Jul 2004 14:21

Congratulations !!!!

Thats really great, hope I receive the same news at the end of next week.

Was kind of hoping I would find out earlier but guess I'll have to wait!!

Dave_rowe 1st Jul 2004 15:32

Mean't to tack this on the end of the previous post!!

Did they give you a start date or any impression of when you are likely to start?

sla 2nd Jul 2004 08:28

I didn't ask about start dates on the phone - I was too pleased to think about asking anything:p

tired-flyboy 2nd Jul 2004 09:26

start dates

well done!

Don't think it'll be before summer 05 - those of us who passed beginning 04 have just had the medicals and those are meant to be 6 months before the start of the course.

Good luck and enjoy your continued wait! lol :p

:ok:
