Grrr What's going on?!?!

Right, ok, after reading about lots of people having their interviews cancelled or rescheduled I thought, given that my interview is on Thursday, I would phone Swanwick and make sure mine was still going ahead.

Alas, not completely.

Apparently the HR woman has just had her leg out of plaster and can't make it, so I'll only have my technical interview & computer tests, and if I get through them I'll be contacted about a personnel interview.

Is anyone else in this situation? Am I wrong to feel slightly disadvantaged? I am also wondering when I would have been told about it had I not phoned to check everything was still running to plan!!!

Help!!!!

Is this - as my mother has suggested - some kind of tactic to see who will hang on through all the setbacks and maybe make it through to the end?!?!?!

Kiora,

You got an interview this week in Glasgow ?

I had mine last week in Glasgow on Thurs and they said that we would be the last lot for that session there, had a full complement though - got the computer tests/HR interview and technical interview.

HR interview was bizzarre indeed and the questions didn't seem to be tailored to me at all, just hope i didn't say anything 'incompatible' with being a controller. We were told should find out within a week but I think i'll take that with a pinch of salt !!

Good luck with yours anyway

Kes.

Aw man, now I'm panicking!

Kes, why would they have said that you guys were the last lot?

I think a phone call to HR first thing tomorrow may be in order! Can't shake this baaaaaad feeling about all of this!

What else did they say to your group?

Oh yes Kiora, I'm knowing that feeling!

My interviews were 22nd April, in London. On the day, the HR person was reportedly ill, and I had to make do with just the ATCO and computer tests.

This now means there is effectively a third stage waiting... and waiting for it I am, still no news nearly a month on!

If I weren't such a calm, cool and collected person (hello HR how's that interview coming along? ) I might be getting a little grrrr! All I can say, is thank god for PPRune, at least I know we're all somewhat in the same (has to be said: very slow) boat! Well done to anyone who makes it through the process without finding out the secret!

On the fact that we'll only get call-backs if we pass the other two parts; this does put us at a disadvantage should we not succeed and wish to reapply. Also, surely the selection of ATCOs at the second stage is based on a good balance of all three of the examined areas?

End of rant, feeling better now!

Best of luck

I would also have thought that the second stage results would show a balance of all areas.

I think you've hit on what I've been feeling today, that I do feel slightly disadvantaged. It seems like an even more drawn out process, especially if you're still waiting for your HR interview to come up.

If there's anyone out there who can shed any light on this at all, please feel free!

I've read the thread on the time taking to get through the selection process and get started on the course, but I never thought some of us would end up in the position where we are effectively waiting for a third part of a selection test that other groups are doing all in one.

If any HR bods are reading this, I am a very calm and rational person, especially when I'm being kept informed of changes!
