Bush Visit

BBC News:
President George W Bush begins a three-day state visit to the UK on Wednesday 19 November.
So I'd say he will arrive next Wednesday

If not EGLL, then I'd hazard a guess at EGVN

Q. For the extremely old Heathrow Tower boys - was JK the only person ever to "send round" Air Force 1???

Wink AF1 landing at RAF Northolt

The latest is that AF1 will be landing on Rwy 25 at Northolt, with a right turn on the A40.

Kick the tires, light the fires, first off is lead, brief on guard.

Check 6 - we're landing westerlies at the moment, so it will be 25 Northolt, then a right turn on the A40...............should stop by the M25!

No probs Check 6

I'm used to being upside down anyway!

Maybe he will end up in Windsor........castle, palace, they're the same thing anyway ain't they? Nice little session in Bar Ha-Ha with Tones and Lizzy. Fix everything!

If they're going to try to get AF1 down on Northolt, I think I'll go along for a look! But I think I'll keep off the A40 so that when the 747 goes through the fence and across the road it'll have a clear run!

Uxbridge could do with some remodelling anyway. Perhaps a new gate guardian at RAF Uxbridge, hand delivered courtesy of the good ol' US of A!!?

Any idea what the support aircraft will be and what happens to them. Do they get vectored off the approach to land elsewhere at some point or do they do some fancy stuff in the overhead?

Will it be landing on 27L like the rest of the traffic [correct as of 17:23] ?

Doubt it they would bring it in over Windsor Great Park... Too much wide open spaces there for dubwa's liking!!

Support a/c generally include at least one C-5, with the others safely tucked inside Haven't seen the fast movers come down low during visits, I guess they land elsewhere.

Smile Airforce One - a little bit of history!

If you missed this arrival, here's the first of two at EGAA in the Clinton era. Note the slight 'tongue in cheek' reply from the App. bossman! (no - not Clinton!!)

Enjoy,

27L/27R???

Hi,

To my knowledge this week was meant to be a 27R arrivals til 3 then 27L til night. However using my airband scanner and 10 ft high aerial i picked up the aircraft around the time AF1 was due in to be landing on 27R. This wouldn't suprize me as this is such an important aircraft. But i may i ask if it would use the LHR director because i was listening from 7-8 and didnt hear 'Air Force One With You'??? Thanks for reading!

Dave

I picked her up on final director (120.40) at about 1900 establishing on 27L. Presumably everything else clearing the way for her on 27R!
