There is a new book about aerobatics just out by Alan Cassidy. It is comprehensive, from just starting out to Unlimited level, and I'll wager it will become the standard textbook. See http://www.worldaerobatics.com

P.S. OK, so Alan's a mate, but I really do believe it is the best book I've seen on the subject. (And it could save your life).

My signed copy arrived on Friday. I skimmed through it v briefly but this evening started in earnest - I'm now on page 11.

Yep, it's good. I know Alan and have trained with him and can see him in the writing!

At last - excellent news!

Funnily enough only the other day I was wondering how he was getting on with it.

I've trained with him too - and will do again squids permitting. In the meantime, I'll grab a copy of the book.

Yes, got my copy yesterday. And its superb!!!

Lots to read up about, and remind myself what I'd forgotten. The pictures are a bit like they came out of a newspaper, with the quality slightly down on what you'd expect from a book of this price. However, that said, the content is excellent.

I can just see the crusty RAF types scratching their chins and mumbling about "Standard spin recovery, old boy, that's what they teach in the Air Force. Its got to be correct" Its about time they got into the 21st century!

All in all, a well recommended book

ditto the comment about the quality of the paper and some of the computer generated drgs, however the content is very readable and explains things well.

I have most treatises written on aeros and generally compare the descriptions/advice/tips about flying a new figure before I go and do it .... will be interesting to see how this compares!

AC's quirky sense of humour still comes shining through, though:p
