Just got a quick break at short notice to Gran Canaria this weekend:) anyone know if possible to hire from Las Palmas (SE) or anywhere on the island, thanks for any info you can give.

Yes, the airfield's called El Berriel about 3 miles north of San Agustin, head south from the main airport and you can't miss it, there's a DC6 or something outside.
The entrance is bit tricky to find.
I haven't got their phone number to hand but look them up on the net and give them a ring, don't bother emailing they don't
reply.
Various PA-28's for hire and possibly a 150.
Funny opening times, they have a siesta!
Search on pprune for Gran Canaria.
