All,

The thing seems a bit ungainly (although attractive in a DC-8-73 sort of way). Have Airbus provided any software limitations on bank and pitch for TO/LNDG? Looks like a pod strike waiting to happen.

The stick forces required for take-off in the -600 is very similar to the basic A340. A pilot would really have to work to achieve a tail strike with the preventive measures installed such as the pitch limiter and with the natural aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft.

What's that they say, "Just when you make something idiot proof, some new and improved idiot comes along." ;)

Thanks for the info. I was most interested in roll limiting. I understand there is a pitch guidance system, but thankfully no absolute limit. After all, one does need to drag the tail very occasionally.
