A BOEING 747 LANDING AT AN OUTBACK QUEENSLAND TOWN AIRSTRIP!
THE DELIVERY OF QANTAS 747-200 VH-EBQ TO THE QANTAS FOUNDERS OUTBACK MUSEUM LONGREACH, FOR PERMANENT DISPLAY
1100 SATURDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2002
At 1100 am, weather permitting, on Saturday 16TH November 2002 Qantas Airways will deliver the Boeing 747-200 VH-EBQ to the Qantas Founders Outback Museum at Longreach in outback Queensland, Australia.
The aircraft will be delivered and displayed in an “as it came out of service condition” and will show people of the future how aviation and mass travel was conducted in the 20th century.
Longreach was selected for the museum not only because it was Qantas’ first operational base in 1921 but also because the dry atmosphere should ensure long term preservation.
*******
Apparently from A.net, QF will also sent VH-VXB down to Longreach as a charter for the day.
==========================================
Wondering how much to charter a Virgin Blue 737, and if there
would be enough PPruners interested to make it worthwhile out of BNE, I would take the time to make inquiries if enough of you
are keen. Do you think Brett would get off on the idea? (Can a
duck swim!)
