Hi All,

I really hope someone out there can help me, my family have recently moved from Kent to Somerset and as luck would have it (or at least I thought) there is a marvelous little airfield within walking distance from their house just to the south west of the Yeovil ATZ.

Sky Demon has it listed at East Chinnock Airfield but has no contact details. I have approached the local parish council who are unable to provide contact details. The owner as listed on land registry for the land has not replied to me, I have even tried leaving notes in the post box on the gate.

If anyone out there has any contact details I will be most grateful as it will save me hours of sitting in traffic jams on the A303.

Thankyou.

Hm, a bit of mystery indeed. You could check https://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/east-chinnock (https://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/east-chinnock/) but it might not be of much help.
There is some confusion, certain sources mention the field as "Middle Chinnock", this one for one example: https://www.ukairfieldguide.net/airfields/Middle-Chinnock

I looked the site up on Google Earth. There is an adjacent farm. The entrance to that farm is Cod Lane. I searched “farm cod lane”. It came up with a reference to “Barrows Hill Farm”.

I searched for that farm and found a reference to a dog food manufacturer and there is a name, a telephone number and an email address. That person may have relevant info.

I’ll let you search for them rather than publish them here.

Try asking Yeovil ATC; it's not too far away.
There was some discussion about Middle Chinnock (as it is listed in the Airfield Guide) on 'another forum' about a year ago and I think google maps came up with an address adjacent to the strip which COULD have been connected with a motor racing enterprise.
I wouldn't want to publish their number either in case it's wrong but if you search google maps you'll find it.
