Heathrow Ground Movement Control

It's been a long time since I have been to any UK airport but I find myself building a sim lesson now and I wonder if anyone can help me with the difference between Ground Movement Control and Ground Control at EGLL?

The 2 don't even exist? What is Ground Control as opposed to Ground Movement Control? :cool::confused::confused:

Official title is 'Ground Movement Control' (GMC(1, 2 or 3))'

RT call sign is 'Ground'.

There is also 'Ground Movement Planner' (GMP), colloquially known amongst us as 'The Pit',

RT callsign is 'Delivery'.

So what might a taxi clearance sound like from stand 340 to 27R in a B747-8? Not sure about the Links and their impact on the -8?

pooky - The B747-8 is a Code F aeroplane so likely you would be routed to 27R using one of the "yellow" taxiways shown in UK AIP A380/Code F chart.

4 pw, I believe, A380 on the other 3 days.

340 is in GMC2's space, but infringes Bravo, so GMC2 would probably give push back:

"Pushback approved, face south, pull forwards abeam stand 342"

Then for taxi it would be "right on Golf, Echo, Hold at Echo2" which is the handover point between GMC2 and GMC1

Then, when it checked in on GMC1, the instruction would be:

"Right on Alpha, hold at PLUTO"
