Aviation Herald:
Incident: Jetstar A320 near Brisbane on Sep 22nd 2016, haze in cabin, engine shut down in flight (http://www.avherald.com/h?article=49e5a1c8)

Doesn't evac[uation] generally imply using slides urgently, not walking off normally? The SMH story says "No emergency was declared" and quotes an airline spokesman: "The hazy smoke seen in the video happened when the aircraft had landed safely in Brisbane and shortly before the passengers disembarked," he said.

That was refuted by passengers on this evenings news, who showed videos of white smoke while the aircraft was in the air, and a clear cabin when it was on the ground.
their videos also showed (heard) the scraping sounds with the hazy cabin while well and truly airborne.

I'd believe the passengers and their phone videos, over Jetstar PR releases.

About "lands & evacs" - maybe a bit sloppy on my part. given that there's another "lands & evacs" story from Australia today. They might not have deployed the slides, but it doesn't sound like a routine landing for the Pax either.
