Hi guys.
I'm currently looking for employment and don't have an awful lot to do... so I set up an antenna on the top of my roof and ran it down to my vhf receiver.
I live off the north coast of Scotland so I was thinking I might be able to get some of the transatlantic traffic on my radio - maybe the stuff north of Shetland? I looked online for appropriate frequencies but they're so vague. I've attached a pic of the area I'd be interested in.
According to the vhf range formula, I could technically receive transmissions from 250NM away (line of sight), so range shouldn't be an issue :)
Thanks for any tips.
