Hi,

Last Thursday I successfully completed my PPL training, the skills test was probably the most nerve racking experience of my life but thanks to 45hrs of training by an excellent instructor I passed successfully.

I sent my application form and £191.00! to Gatwick yesterday and wondered how long it will take for them to process my application and send me my piece of paper?

Also, I understand the CAA are no longer issuing JAR PPL licences, what is the the difference between that and the new EASA PPL licences?

Regards

Anthony

The new one is half the size, all on a single sheet of paper and valid for life as opposed to 5 years. Timewise, anywhere from 10 days to 10 months!

Just changed my JAR to EASA and it took about ten days.

Hi, congratulations!

They're still quoting 17 working days and ask you not to call and chase your application:

Pilots | Personal Licences and Training (http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=175)

In my case (in June), it took them a few days less but I think it's save to expect your license within more or less 3 weeks.

Congratulations, I know what you mean about it being nerve racking!
I got mine about a month ago and it took 3 weeks to the day.
