Turkish Air Traffic Controllers announced today that they will be doing everything by the book (stopping ATC assistance regarding direct routing, early take-off, early landing, etc. given previously by stretching rules) to protest against:

the lack of a national career definition for ATC personnel,
working more hours than other civil servants,
earning as much in retirement pensions as janitors,
no early retirement rights or attrition fees in a sector with bad and depreciative working conditions,
not getting compensated for training and language development in a changing and developing sector such as aviation,
working under one of the worst administrative structures in the world,
earning one third what pilots make in wages while counterparts around the world make the same as pilots.
not receiving compensation payments for 21 months.

Here is a table on the resource distribution regarding use of Eurocontrol incomes by Eurocontrol member countries:

I am not an ATC and have no affiliation with any groups leading or taking part in the action. I just wanted to share this news item with others here on Pprune.
