Turkish ATC announce by-the-book action...
Turkish Air Traffic Controllers announced today that they will be doing everything by the book (stopping ATC assistance regarding direct routing, early take-off, early landing, etc. given previously by stretching rules) to protest against:

I am not an ATC and have no affiliation with any groups leading or taking part in the action. I just wanted to share this news item with others here on Pprune.
- the lack of a national career definition for ATC personnel,
- working more hours than other civil servants,
- earning as much in retirement pensions as janitors,
- no early retirement rights or attrition fees in a sector with bad and depreciative working conditions,
- not getting compensated for training and language development in a changing and developing sector such as aviation,
- working under one of the worst administrative structures in the world,
- earning one third what pilots make in wages while counterparts around the world make the same as pilots.
- not receiving compensation payments for 21 months.
