I know the 707 spoilers are manually deployed, but can they they be deployed incrementally?

Thanks for any responses

Simply, yes.

The lever moves through an arc and can be left at any point.

As an aside, leaving about [memory?] 60% of travel in place and rolling the aircraft just about doubles the rate of roll as the differential spoiler assistance to the ailerons is enhanced with partial speedbrake.

G'day ;)

The B727 roll rate is similarly enhanced with spoiler deployment.

There was another neat little feature in the B707 spoiler system You could split them and use only inbd or outbd spoilers to induce pitch changes. very handy for a jammed stab.

Switch up - pitch up or NUKI (Nose Up Kill Inbd) was the word.

Why do I still remember this stuff???

mustafagander, that brings back memories for me also!

We used "Left for Lift" (ie to lift the nose) - recall doing it for real on the a/c during training at PIK circa 1974 - happy days!

Same on 727. :)
Saved three fellows on a cold winter night with frozen Elevator/Stab.
