Hi Everybody,

first post , long time lurker , just wanted to start by thanking the day to day posters for their invaluable advice and comments over the years , good work all round I say.

I'm thinking of going to Clitheroe in Lancashire for the Beatherder festival this weekend and I was wondering what is the closest runway to the festival ?

Blackpool is the nearest, unless you're coming over in a microlight. Should be possible to get a train from just down the road to Clitheroe from there.

Theres always Hoghton.Not too far from Clitheroe.

Is Samlesbury out of use? Seems to be a couple of gliders on the ground here (http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=15&lat=53.7403333333&lon=-2.58466666667&mapType=aerial#map=53.77446,-2.56604|16|8&bd=useful_information)

Sadly, yes. It closed last year.
