Flying back to base today in Yorkshire, we had a total GPS failure for appx 3mins(seemed like 3 hours though). The panel mounted and hand held both whent off line:eek: The weather wasnt too bad but the old steam driven stuff was working fine and i always try and fly VOR's so no worries there. Anyone else have similar problem in the N.E?

Were you any where near the GPS jamming exercises that were going on in Humberside?

I was north of there, but near to Fylingdales. So i had a suspicion it was something to do with them. Were these jaming exercises Notamed? If not, where do you get this info?

A good reminder about keeping your primary navigating skills up to scratch for you there then.

They were NOTAMed but I didn't take a detailed look as they weren't anywhere near our route. I would guess that Fylingdales might have had something to do with it. I have always wondered if Fylingdales could listen to cockpit conversations with all the clever stuff they have in there.
