HI,guys!!

I need your help. Stuardes of AEROFLOT(Russian Airlines) are in strike(they have no salary at all). And our bosses forced us to
fly without stuardes. For example, 6 stuardes for B-777.I can't find right site to complain to Flight Safety. I want Flight Safety to check all flights of AEROFLOT in NEW YORK, SEATTLE, LOS-ANGELLES & SAN-FRANCISCO. Because I can't resist of force of our bosses, but tomorrow I will inform my bosses, that they will have a PROBLEM to brake all rules. Please send this message to right adress and give me answer. Thanks to everyboby.

Sounds to me like you violated the FARs by flying without a full crew. YOu are the Captain or Co-pilot have the last call as to a flight occuring. If you tookoff with no crew than you are to blame.

Teodora, www.faa.gov (http://www.faa.gov) will provide you with all the necessary contacts.

Good luck.

It's a shame that the management of such a large carrier pushes crew to break with important flight safety rules! Let's hope that the FAA and JAA will take measures!

Shouldnīt someone confirm this potential (probable) hoax first.

If itīs true, then something should be done, however, Aeroflot has improved their standards greatly in the past years...

I believe itīs a wind up, but Iīve been wrong before.

if you are not full load (depending on your AC version) 6 FA might be ok. The rules say ther must be at least 1 certified FA per pair of doors + 1 every 50 pax or portion of 50. I would like to point out that if the flight crew decides to take off in this situation, then it is your business. The Capt is ultimately responsible for the decision of departing in unsafe conditions and the FO can't pretend not being aware.
If something turns out you can be held responsible of all the times you were flying "outlaw"

Blue - I thought it was for 'seats installed' not pax. IE. 151 seats = 4 crew minimum even if only 1 passenger on board.

It is not so. Only the FA per pair of doors at floor level are fixed, then it depends on the pax number on board, not the cabin version. Sure about that, check your books.

Flyblue,

Not on this side of the pond. JAR. Magnus is correct.

My side of the pond (France)this is the rule. Have the text in front of me. Odd there is a difference though.
Any other?

Flyblue ;) it is like this on this side on the pond. Even if A/C goes with 1 pax you should have the minimun crew required for that type. Altough, in my particular case (book on hands) it says, for example: Minimum crew required for BAe146-300(110 pax full load) is 3 CA (regardless of number of pax on board) ... but yes, it could go with only 2 depending on number of pax, under special cases, with a special permission, and if both CA are N.1 .... Never seen a case anyway.
On the other hand, our 50 pax A/C are generally operated by 2 CA, but they can fly, legally, just with one (N.1) and they have 1 pair or doors at the front plus over/under wings exits....
I wonder what regulations are in that other side Teodora mentioned....But I think, for personal experience, you have to be carefull when landing on FAA territory.....

Blue,

It is number of installed seats, not pax as the dictating factor regarding flt attendants.

You answered your own question about wondering "why the difference?" when you mentioned you were from France.

Surely you donīt find France being out of step with the rest of the aviation world "odd" do you?

The regulations are the same in Italy, so I don't think the French are the only "weird ones" as you seem to suggest.
Stated that rules are different in different countries, maybe our friend Teodora should check on his country's.
