How often does that actually happen?
Where can one check the figures for different airlines, if indeed it is possible
Has anyone experienced this?

I don't think you'll find anyone who will live to tell...

A recent newspaper article stated that BA experience around 10 deaths a year on their flights, so that gives some indication...

Was unfortunate enough to experience this. A very elderley gentleman, passed away in the loo, aneurism. I had the very unfortunate task of informing his widow, truly something I hope none of you ever get to experience - horrible. A chap I know who worked in Africa, lost 4 in one go, a hospital evac sortie in a 'well used' 1-11 belonging to a certain carrier with a 'Chief' on the stab. Altogether rather unpleasant.

The CAA may be able to provide some info - deaths occurring anywhere in the world on board UK registered aircraft have to be registered with them (more info here (http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=131&pagetype=90&pageid=140)).
BA had one recently, and put the corpse in First Class (Reuters (http://uk.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUKL1927564620070320)). One way to get a free upgrade I suppose!

I had a couple of posts on this subject deleted for some reason. You would have had more.
