Oi comrades. AAI still letting people go. Heard their only hope, the Hadj is in danger for them. Oh boy! Does anybody know if they have work for their 767īs in EGCC.

Standard procedure for AAI, the usual thirty day cancelation letter to most pilots in early October, altho this time I do believe the Haj for them will be greatly reduced. The Excel contract also ends 01 November. Those that think that AAI is a permanent job had better think twice, seasonal employment only for most. A nice retirement job at best, provided you can put up with the maintenance.

The MAN based B767 is going back to its owners, work is being
sought for the other 2 which belong to Atlanta. One might be
going to Algiers, but thats not confirmed.

411A you just can't resist it can you. You know exactly what the
story with the maintainance issue was because plenty of
people have told you, so stop peddling lies. Nobody wants to hear
it anymore. We know you are just a disgruntled ex employee.

Itchypuss as I've said before almost all the B767 people are Europeans,
so no right of abode and work issue here.

The Hajj is no more in danger for AAI than it is for anyone else.

Certainly Air Atlanta would have been happier if the Iberia thing hadnīt come to an end so abrubtly but that possibility was always there and the company has made the necessary changes to deal with this. If the Hajj is cancelled it wonīt just be Atlanta who find themselves in deep water.

Realistically, I think the Saudis will put enough pressure on the US to ensure that the Hajj goes ahead. They need the money they earn during Hajj and the worldwide muslim community would be pretty upset if their pilgrimage were to be cancelled due to coalition led military action in the region.

Time for some clever marketing maybe?

Cancelling the Hajj would be like writing off Christmas AND Easter: unless the sky falls in, there will be a Hajj and AAI are as well positioned to take advantage of it as anyone!

Flybob, correct you are. Just look at 411's postings to see how bitter he is on many topics here.

He obviously has lots of axes to grind in the aviation business. Sad indeed.

Flybob - many thanks. Great news about the Hajj,as they say in aussie rules it ain't over 'till the final siren blows. If I don't get down to Madrid, will catch up with you all at Rose Village for BBQ and lemonade!

The annoying thing for me is that I was literally days away from the Left Seat, but now it's going to be months away ...
Ah well, at least it's something to look forwards to. ;)

The number of Hajj passengers next year is expected to rise by 15%, therefore you can bet your arse that Air Atlanta will be needed.

Now where is my invite to the BarBQ?

Mutt.

Never mind 18 rims, we can drown your sorrows with Flybob's zamzam water. I'll see you all in the sex and alchohol free Rose willitz early Jan. Great fun! Then we can figure out what the hell to do for post Hajj bucks...
