JetsGo Gone, But Employees Not Forgotten
Toronto Board of Trade stages free job fair for former JetsGo employees

(Toronto) The Toronto Board of Trade announced today it would stage a free job fair next Wednesday at its Airport Centre facility for former employees of JetsGo, who were left jobless when the airline folded earlier this month.

“Most of the 1,200 people who lost their jobs live here in Toronto,” explained Board of Trade President Glen Grunwald, “These are highly-skilled people with valuable experience, and we would like to see them working and contributing to Toronto’s prosperity again as soon as possible.”

The Board is working with former JetsGo employees, the City of Toronto, Kelly Services Canada and Board members to stage the fair on Wednesday, March 30th from Noon to 4:00 PM at the Toronto Board of Trade Airport Centre, 830 Dixon Road. Admission will be free to all former employees of JetsGo. Those who can produce proof of their employment with the defunct airline will be given “front of the line” priority.

Grunwald said the Board is providing its facility, helping organize the event and promoting it to Board members – all free of charge – after being approached by former airline employees looking for help. More than two dozen Board of Trade member companies such as Direct Energy, Westin Bakeries, UPS, Enwave, City Centre Aviation and the Delta Chelsea Hotel have already agreed to participate as potential employers.

The Toronto Board of Trade is the champion of a competitive and vibrant Toronto with a mandate to serve, represent and unite the city’s business community. Founded in 1845, the non-profit organization now boasts nearly 10,000 members, including businesses of every size and type, and operates at four locations across Toronto.
