It is true. An over delivery of eastbound traffic form the Ocean and only enough staff to open the sectors (not provide breaks) meant that they were required to work well in excess of SRATCOH at management request. I believe all the relevant forms have been completed. Better not say any more, you never know who's reading...

hatsoff: many of the day to day issues are being discussed on the NATS forum, and probably wouldn't be of much interest to the wider world. The big issues such as this one you can be sure will be brought out into the public domain as it is important that you are kept appraised of the concerns we have.

A brief summary of the NERC operation so far from the people I talk to is that we are generally surprised at how stable the system has been so far, with no major failures. There are of course many minor niggles which we are told are being worked on, and we can't help thinking that they should have been solved before we went live. Some of them show a basic lack of understanding of the way our ATC system operates, which confirms our suspicions that this is a system designed by engineers, not ATCOs.

The R/T quality is a major issue and has caused at least one incident so far. This needs URGENT resolution and I believe will be top of the agenda at the review meeting this morning.

Most of us are finding the manipulation of the electronic coordination requires a lot of concentration at present, especially with the non-standard requests or routings. Please be patient, therefore, if you find us a little less flexible than we were at LATCC. Until we learn the shortcuts you might not get any!

Take it by no major glitches, you're not including Daventry north loosing all its frequencies the other day?

Loose frequencies? Sounds like an intriguing proposition. Do you mean LOSING?

At the time I wrote, that event had not happened.

If you want to ask me about night staffing, however, I could go on all day. What a shambles!!
