Expect this will be 'moderated' heard Shenzhen lost an engine during cruise on one of their NGs, well local Captain shut it down as the Oil pressure was low, although not limits for engine shutdown What with that !! and a wing scrape, two weeks ago suprised Boeing are keeping quiet. !! I know its big business in China guys but come on...... didn`t the Koreans at least own up to needing real help...

Bit like SARS all :suspect: :suspect:

Maybe a leetle beet tenuous? You 'heard'....where, on the grapevine. So they shut down an engine......not sure there are any minimum oil pressure limits. That, and a wing scrape, and you demand they should bare their chests and tear their shirts? This is almost as exciting as the BA engine gossip!

STOKKEN,

Have you thought about writing for a tabloid newspaper? If not in UK then in Hong Kong I think Apple Daily needs your skills.

If you have low oil pressure in the amber band it says : DO NOT TAKE OFF
If the oil pressure is at or below the red line: Accomplish the ENGINE FAILURE/SHUTDOWN checklist.
So deliver the facts and then where is the problem?. To shut down a engine and then land at the next suitable airport is something what you get paid for. Do the job and do not complain when you have to work one day to earn your money. By the way the NG lands nicely with one engine. Had to do it in May 2001.
How are the Koreans connected with Shenzen?, tell us please.
